A major sex racket operating under the cover of a spa was busted during a joint raid by the police and narcotics squad at the Arctic Hotel in Vyttila, Kochi. Eleven young women, all Malayalis mostly from Kochi along with a middleman, were taken into custody. The operation was triggered by intelligence about possible drug-related activities at the hotel. Although no drugs were recovered, the investigation revealed a prostitution ring being run by an external agency under the pretense of spa services. Items like condoms and pills were also found in the hotel rooms. The women reportedly earned up to ₹30,000.
