New Delhi: The CPI and the CPI(M) has received notice from the Income Tax department, yesterday. It is reported that the Income Tax department took this action because the Left parties failed to submit bank account details to the Income Tax (IT) department.

It is reported that the IT department has issued a notice to the CPI to pay “dues” of Rs 11 crore for using an old PAN card while filing tax returns during the last few years.The notice states that the CPI has to pay a total of Rs 11 crore for the IT department for the dues filed using an old PAN card to the IT department and a penalty for filing tax returns by submitting wrong PAN card details.

Meanwhile, the CPI(M) has been issued an order to pay a penalty of Rs 15 crore by the IT department. At the same time, the Left parties have informed that they are going to legally challenge the notice issued by the IT department.
